About Chris Schultz


Chris Schultz is a tech entrepreneur living in New Orleans, LA.  He has launched several Internet companies and blogs about entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem at


Currently, Chris is launching a product called Niko Niko, a happiness tracker for teams that turns mood into actionable data for managers.  

He makes angel investments through Voodoo Ventures and was an early investor in Federated Sample and Neighborland


Chris is the co-founder of Flatstack, a software development firm he founded with partners in Kazan, Russia.  He is also co-founder of Launch Pad, a collaborative workspace in downtown New Orleans that is home to more than 75 entrepreneurs.  Out of that grew Launch Pad Ignition, the first seed accelerator on the gulf coast and Launch Fest, the New Orleans demo day. 


Chris actively mentors young entrepreneurs in the community in addition to building his own companies. He also is a passionate member of the grassroots tech community and organized the first BarCamp in New Orleans and in Russia and speaks regularly at SXSW and other conferences. 


Prior to Voodoo Ventures, Chris founded Destination VIP, Inc. a Las Vegas-based internet travel company which was acquired in 2003 by VegasHotSpots.  He received his MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 2002, and his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1996.


Chris took a cross-country road trip this summer that only took two BMW motorcycles, and he enjoys taking "business trips" to exotic locations.
