Conferences
This is my 2009 list of conferences that I plan to attend or would like to attend. Some of them I go to every year, some of them are ones that I would like to try for the first year.
My goals with conferences are: education, networking, generating business, reconnecting with friends, having fun.

- Las Vegas WordCamp - 1/10 - 1/11 - Las Vegas, NV - I'm excited about going to
- Social Networking Conference - 1/22 - 1/23 - Miami, Florida - Topics will be about technologies, venture capital revenue models for social networking, online personals marketing, business strategies, software partnerships, legal issues and payments.
- Future of Web Apps - 2/22 - 2/24 - Miami, FL - Ryan Carson's great annual conference on building web applications.
- Adaptive Path - MX: San Francisco - 3/1 - 3/3 - Design management discussions that will focus on traditional concerns of print and brand, toward a new frontier of innovative products and service-oriented experiences.
- DEMO - 3/1 - 3/9 - Palm Desert, CA - Technology conference and new companies to launch new products.
- SXSW Interactive - 3/13 - 3/18 - Austin, TX - I'm speaking at SXSW Interactive this year. It's a great conference covering the web industry.
- MIX09 - 3/18 - 3/20 - Las Vegas, NV - Will be talking about new technologies that can help businesses retain and up-sell customers.
- Information Architechture Summit 2009 - 3/20 - 3/22 - Memphis. TN - The speaker is Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University and this will be a premier gathering place for information architects and other user experience professionals.
- WordCamp NOLA - April 10-11, 2009 - I'm working to help put on the first WordCamp in New Orleans.
- Mesh - Spring 2009 - Location: TBD - The team is still on the process of finding the right speakers and who would fit best in the business, marketing, media or society streams.
- CommunityNext LA - March - They covered technological advancements and how it brings people together.
- O'Reilly Graphing Social Pattern - March - San Diego, CA - Discussed about business & marketing, and app development & techinical strategy with the use of social network platforms.
- Web 2.0 Expo San Francisco - 3/31 - 4/3 - San Francisco, CA - Co-presented by O'Reilly Media and TechWeb.
- The Next Web Conference - 4/16 - 4/17 - Amsterdam, Netherlands - This European conference for industry thought-leaders, leading web-companies, innovative startups, visionaries and real web savvies.
- SOBCon09 - 5/1 - 5/3 - Chicago, IL - Conference for blogging industry.
- RailsConf 2009 - 5/4 - 5/7 - Las Vegas, Nevada - Official event for the Ruby on Rails community that will cover the following features.
- SEED - June 2008 - Chicago, IL - There were six presentations to inspire and adopt unconventional ideas about collaboration and business and discussions led by 37signals, Segura Inc, Coudal Partners and friends.
- Gnomedex - August - Seattle, WA - Conference for bloggers, podcasters, and tech-savvy enthusiasts.
- BlogWorld - September - Las Vegas, NV - Trade show and conference for blogging industry.
- TechCrunch - September - San Francisco, CA - Twenty of the hottest new startups announced and demo their products over a two day period.
- Web 2.0 Summit - November - San Francisco, CA - Conference on technology developments that can be utilized by emerging businesses.
- Defrag- November - Denver, CO - Conference about next wave software innovation.
